If you know Exeter, you probably know us. Tucked just off the high street, we’ve been fuelling good times, great food, and proper pints for years – and we’re only just getting started.
We’ve earned our stripes as one of Exeter’s best-loved ale and cider pubs, the kind of place where everyone feels at home – students, locals, and even the odd lost tourist who never wants to leave.
Our food? No one leaves hungry. Think legendary 14” square pizzas (big, bold, and built to share – or not, we don’t judge). Or dive into topped-up tater tots, braised beef nachos, ox cheek lasagne, and those infamous Devon Red chicken lollipops. And on Sundays, our roasts are the stuff of local legend. Comfort food, packed with serious flavour.
Of course, it wouldn’t be us without a proper pint – from West Country ciders to rotating craft and cask ales, the taps are always flowing.
Whether you’re swinging by for a chilled catch-up or a big night out, you’ll always get a warm welcome from Gemma and the crew. Pull up a chair, grab a pint, and make yourself at home.
From our iconic 14” square pizzas to the big hitters – proper nachos and pint-friendly snacks – everything is made with fresh, seasonal produce and the best of British ingredients. It’s the kind of food you start daydreaming about mid-lecture.
Join us Monday to Friday lunchtime for a proper three-course festive feast, or keep things classic Firehouse with our famous pizzas, drinks and late-night atmosphere on evenings and weekends.
Got the whole crew coming? Our Attic Bar is made for bigger Christmas parties, giving you your own space to eat, drink and celebrate.
Big roasts, crispy roasties, towering Yorkies and plenty of gravy. Round up your favourite people and settle in for a proper Sunday feast at Old Fire House.
From monthly live music sessions to the chaos of Terry & Jude’s Crazy Quiz, there’s always something happening. Whether you’re in the mood to throw some shapes, flex your weird trivia skills, or just soak up a great night with mates, we’re the place to do it.
Planning a get-together? The Attic Bar is your go-to for birthdays, student socials, society takeovers, and more. With its own private bar, audio setup, and loads of character, it’s made for memorable nights. Book now and let’s get the party started.
We keep it bold, British, and full of flavour. No fluff, no fuss – just proper food made with quality ingredients, served Firehouse-style.

And Sunday roasts? The stuff of legends. Think hunks of slow-cooked meats, towering Yorkies, and sides a-plenty.
We’re not just a pub – we’re a live music institution. Known across Exeter for our buzzing atmosphere and packed-out gigs, we’ve long been a stage for local legends, up-and-coming talent, and the well-known favourites that keep crowds coming back for more.
From stripped-back acoustic sets to full-throttle folk, indie, and everything in between, our music nights bring serious energy – the kind that spills out into the courtyard and keeps the city buzzing.
