Datura Roots Collective @Old Firehouse Exeter

May 25 @ 9:30 pm - 11:30 pm

It’s been a while but this Saturday night we’re back at one of favourite intimate #Exeter venues, Old Firehouse Exeter for a night of bass heavy roots and dub sounds!

Formed in Teignmouth, Devon, original Roots fusion 4-piece ‘The Datura Roots Collective’ have been busy tearing up the south-west UK – becoming renowned for their vibrant stage energy and crowd engagement, making waves with their ‘saltwater’ sounds. Inspired by Roots Reggae and Dub pioneers to smokey Blues & Jazz clubs, hard-hitting HipHop & Rap, then twisted with crazy electronica from Electro-Swing to live Jungle / Drum & Bass. Expect a deliciously delirious cocktail of soulful vocals, mad bars & hype, blistering Sax, raw and swirling Dub/Slide guitar, allied together with an irresistible groove guaranteed to make you move.

Their unique blend of styles and high-octane live show has seen Datura Roots Collective support several strong favourites on the UK & International gig circuit, including:- Gentleman’s Dub Club, Zion Train, Dubioza Kolektiv, Electric Swing Circus, Chainska Brassika and BBC Radio 6’s Donn Letts. Having also shared festival stages with the likes of Macka B & the Roots Ragga Band, Island Records’ Kiko Bun, and Laid Black, DRC are set to enchant and capture the senses of music lovers across the UK and beyond…
